6. We select the brush tool (With soft edges)
7. Overlay masking (so that the edges are not visible and the smoke is only in the places where we want it)
- Create a new mask layer
- Select the brush tool
- Select the black color
- And we will “draw” into the mask layer with black paint (the black paint will make the overlay disappear where you draw)
This way we achieve the effect where the smoke does not overlap the model, but will only be next to her.
8. Color the overlay so that it matches the image
- Select in Adjustment > HUE/SATURATION
- Assign the HUE/SATURATION layer to the overlay (it must be below it)
- Check “Colorize”
- Use the sliders to select the correct color.
